Budget information   Farmingdale Public Library Budget Vote and Trustee Election Information

Budget Vote:  Tuesday, April 14 from 7:30am - 9:00pm

The proposed 2015-2016 budget reflects a tax levy increase of 1.42%. If you have questions, please call the library at 516-249-9090.



Important Dates

March 13 - Deadline to file petitions for library trustee in the Library Director's office.
                 Term of Laurie Rozakis expires 6/30/2015.

March 17 - Board of trustees meeting at 5 PM.

March 31 - Budget hearing at 7 PM.

March 31 - Voter registration at the library from 4-8 PM.

April 14 - Library budget vote and trustee election at the library 7:30 AM - 9 PM.

April 14 - Absentee ballots must be completed and returned to the library by 5 PM.

Library Taxes

Taxing jurisdictions, such as the library district, establish a budget which determines the tax levy or the amount of money to be raised by property taxes to keep the library operational.

Your library taxes are based on the assessed value of your property multiplied by the library tax rate. All single-family houses in the Farmingdale Library District currently have a library tax rate of 30.204.

Go to http://www.mynassauproperty.com and to look up your property taxes.

The following are sample properties within the Farmingdale Library District.

Sample property: Incorporated Village - Old Style House with Porch
Assessed Value = 608
2014-2015 Library taxes = $183.64 per year or 50 cents per day.

Sample property: Incorporated Village - Colonial
Assessed Value = 916
2014-2015 Library taxes = $276.67 per year or 76 cents per day.

Sample property: South Farmingdale - Cape
Assessed Value = 331
2014-2015 Library taxes = $99.98 per year or 27 cents per day.

Sample property: North Massapequa - Split level
Assessed Value = 791
2014-2015 Library taxes = $238.91 per year or 65 cents per day.

Sample property: Massapequa Park - Split level
Assessed Value = 418
2014-2015 Library taxes = $126.25 per year or 35 cents per day.
