Electronic Resources for Kids

The library provides access to a wide variety of electronic resources that offer magazines, journals, and newspaper articles; research electronic resources on specific subjects such as literature, art, auto repair, business, health, student resources, and more.

To access these electronic resource, you will need your Farmingdale library card barcode.

Britannica Academic

Includes Encyclopedia Britannica plus Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, magazines and periodicals, and other research tools.


Britannica School

A source for all grades (Pre-K-12) and all reading abilities. Available at three levels–elementary, middle, and high.


Britannica Escolar

Research material for school age children. Content is age-appropriate and in Spanish. Features will assist native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish in doing research.


Britannica Escolar Primaria

Research material for school age children. Content is age-appropriate and in Spanish. Features will assist native Spanish speakers, bilingual students, and students learning Spanish in doing research.


Pronunciator

Learn 80 foreign languages. Includes 50 ESOL courses & access to U.S. citizenship exam preparation lessons.


ScienceFlix

A place for students to develop a better understanding of science concepts and ideas through hands-on projects/experiments, videos, and informative text presented in three different reading levels.


TrueFlix

Supplement social studies and science core curricula learning content using primary sources, videos, audio clips, images, and related websites.


Tutor.com

This online tutoring service, connects students to tutors in an online classroom. Users can review and share previous sessions, prepare for a test or practice skills with practice quizzes, use the Princeton Review to prepare for your SAT or ACT and store assignments, class notes and projects while using Tutor.com. Users will be required to have a valid library card number. (For students in Gr. 4-12 & College.)
