Library of Things Guidelines:
1. Items are available to Farmingdale Public Library cardholders 18 years and older and in
good standing.
2. Each item may be reserved for a 7-day period. If the item is not picked up on the first day
of the reservation, the reservation period will not be extended.
3. Only one item may be checked out to an individual patron at any given time. Each item
may be reserved once in a 30-day period. Items may not be renewed.
4. Items may be reserved up to 30 days in advance.
5. The late fee for an item returned after the due date will be $5 per day.
6. The borrower is responsible for all the parts to a Library of Things item. If any item or
pieces are missing upon return, the item will not be cleared off the borrower’s card until
all pieces have been returned or paid for. Borrower will be responsible for any late fees
incurred during this time.
7. Items must be returned ONLY to the Reference Desk by 8:30 p.m. on the due date. They
may NOT be returned in the book drop outside.
