Individuals qualifying for one of the following user categories may apply for a NYSL Borrower’s Card or a New York State Resident Borrower’s Card. A NYSL Borrower’s Card or NYS Resident Borrower’s Card allows individuals to borrow books and other materials, as well as, access online journals, online newspapers and other online resources 24/7 from work or home. NOVELny Collection: NOVELny is an online library of hundreds of magazines, newspapers, maps, charts, research and reference books that are available to every New Yorker, free of charge. Open access to this collection is available to everyone residing in New York State, or via a NY ID or library card.
Databases: These resources are available on-site using the NYS Library’s computers available on the 7th floor and remotely to registered borrowers with a valid New York State Library card with a P.
E-Journals and E-Books: Search the library’s collection of full-text eJournals and eBooks by title, ISSN/ISBN, or browse by subject. This collection is available for the public to access onsite using the Library’s computers available on the 7th floor. Remote access is available to registered borrowers with a valid Borrower Card (beginning with “P”) and PIN.
Internet Bibliographies: Browse Web sites selected and annotated by Library staff and organized by topic.
